Geography

Coachella Valley — The preferred widely-recognized term for the region. Covers Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, and surrounding cities. Part of Riverside County, California. Palm Springs Coachella — SunshineFM’s brand term for the region, used alongside “Coachella Valley.” Treats the valley as one connected ecosystem rather than separate cities.

Content types

Intelligence Brief — The primary content unit. Published daily from each weekday broadcast. Contains 6-10 signals, a Local Radar section, and a Citeable Claims section. URL format: /intelligence/YYYY-MM-DD-HHMM Signal — A single discrete observation within an Intelligence Brief. Bold one-line header plus 2-4 sentences of specific, opinionated analysis. Local Radar — A section at the end of each Intelligence Brief covering 3-5 upcoming local events, opportunities, or things worth watching in the Coachella Valley. Citeable Claims — A section at the end of each Intelligence Brief listing 6-10 specific verifiable facts with dates, dollar figures, company names, and local context. Designed for direct citation by humans and LLMs. Raw Transcript — The primary source text from each broadcast, generated by AssemblyAI. Available at /transcripts/pages/YYYY-MM-DD-HHMM for verification.
